FAQ - Rinjani Rewild Adventure

1. When is the best time to climb Mount Rinjani?

The best time to climb is April to November during the dry season. The trails are safer and the views clearer. During this period, we also run a tree-planting program in Senaru, so your climb directly supports reforestation.

2. Do I need a guide or porter to climb Mount Rinjani?

Yes. For safety and conservation reasons, TNGR requires all climbers to be accompanied by a licensed guide. Our guides are native Senaru residents and have been trained in Leave No Trace principles. Porters are optional, but we recommend them to reduce the burden and support the local economy.

3. How fit do I need to be to climb Mount Rinjani?

The summit trek requires good fitness and stamina. For the crater rim trek, moderate fitness is sufficient. We keep our groups small so our guides can adjust their pace and prevent climbers from overexerting themselves, which also reduces trail erosion and the risk of accidents.

4. Are there toilets or bathrooms on the mountain?

There are simple public toilets in the camping area. On our trips, we use eco-friendly portable toilets and biodegradable waste bags at sensitive locations to prevent soil and water pollution. We take all waste down with us in accordance with Leave No Trace standards.

5. Is it safe to climb Mount Rinjani?

It's safe to climb with a licensed operator. All our guides are WFR-certified, carry first aid kits and emergency communication devices, and limit groups to a maximum of six people for better safety management. Safety and low-impact practices always go hand in hand on our trips.

6. Bagaimana Rinjani Rewild Adventure menerapkan eco-tourism?

We operate in small groups, use BPA-free reusable camping gear, prohibit single-use plastics, and bring all trash down. For every guest, we plant a native tree in Senaru. We also only work with local guides and porters, so your climb directly supports the local community.
